You have brains in your head.

You have feet in your shoes.

You can steer yourself

any direction you choose.

Dr. Seuss

Joshua Tree is our second National Park of the trip.

The mountain views,  Joshua Trees, and camping under the Milky Way sets the scene for a surreal camping experience in Joshua Tree National Park.

Our site felt pretty spacious, but there weren't any other campers on the surrounding sites.

There are no showers at the campground, but enjoyed our showers in a nearby town at a little store called Coyote Corner.

Although this is a Joshua Tree National Park Campground, you cannot access the main attractions of the park from the campground. Entering the main area of the park requires a half hour drive to the park's entrance.

There are ten trails accessible from within the campground.

We hiked a few trails and visited Barker Dam. The Joshua Trees, giant Yucca plants and large piles of boulders

make this park feel like something right out of a Dr. Suess book.

What we'll remember most are the star-filled desert nights and how vulnerable everything feels in the desert.
