Kiasutha Recreational Area Campground
Longhouse Scenic Drive
"Earth and sky,
woods and field,
lakes and river,
the mountain and the sea,
are excellent schoolmasters,
and teach some of us more than
we can ever learn from books."
Sir John Lubbock
Kiasutha Campground, located within the Allegheny National Forest, sits on the Kinzua Creek Arm of the Allegheny Reservoir.
We especially love the waterfront campsites, but all the sites in the park are nice.
The campground has a boat launch, a swimming beach, and clean showers and flush toilets. Ice and firewood are available for purchase.
We stay here several times a year.
This is bear country, and campers must keep all food locked in their campers or vehicles. On a recent visit, the campers at the neighboring site left food out on a table after dark. This attracted a very persistent bear who took off with their hummus and returned a little while later to see what else he could get.
Here are some photos from a few of our Kiasutha camping trips.
