Hamlin Lake
Ludington Sate Park, Michigan
"Keep close to Nature's heart...
and break clear away,
once in awhile,
and climb a mountain
or spend a week in the woods.
Wash your spirit clean"
John Muir
Hamlin Lake is 4900 acres and as deep as 80 feet in some areas.
Ludington State Park lies along the western shore of the lake.
We paddled for a few hours, stopping at a few sandy beaches along the way.

The most remarkable thing about this lake is how clear it is. The strands of water plants were several feet tall and we could see all the way down to the bottom of the lake.
