"I'm fancy on the inside."
The town of Luray has a few restaurants, a brewery, and a hotel. We stayed at the Mimslyn Inn our first night in town and really enjoyed it. It looks like something out of Gone With the Wind. We're not always super comfortable at places like this, but everyone so friendly and welcoming. I made Jeff change his shirt before we went inside, and I wouldn't let him wheel his cooler of beer across the lobby and up the staircase. When he asked why, I said because "It's fancy." His reply? "Im fancy on the inside."
We spent some time sitting on the porch and taking in the views before heading downstairs to check out the super cool speakeasy. That's where we met Matt, an Appalachian Trail thru-hiker. If there's one thing we love, it's an AT thru-hiker. Matt was hiking the entire Appalachian Trail from Georgia to Maine. Matt wasn't the first thru-hiker we've met, but he was, and is, our favorite. We bought him beer. He told us stories. I think we got the better end of the deal. See for yourself by reading his amazing posts and trail stories.
