At 0.6 miles and only a 60 foot elevation gain, this hike packs a lot of views for very little effort.

It was just what we were looking for at the end of our hiking vacation.

We passed the trailhead sign by Big Meadows Lodge and decided to check it out.

On our way back down, we stopped to watch this owl eating a snake, just off the trail. We watched from a distance until the owl suddenly took flight right over our heads.  Here he is holding the snake wrapped around a stick.  Nature is so cool.
