Royal Arch Trail Boulder, CO
Make new friends,
but keep the old,
One is silver
and the other gold.
There was only one Wallace in the Wild for this trip. I wasn't even officially a Wallace at the time, but I was wild!
Dawn and I have been friends since third grade. She moved from Ohio to Colorado in the nineties. Over the years, the distance separating us never affected the closeness connecting us.
Look at us! We have all our jewelry but not nearly enough water!
I heart this girl!
We started our hike on the Chautauqua trail near the Ranger Station. From there, we entered a gorgeous pine forest.
We found a beautiful area filled with rock cairns, and built our own together.
Climbing the flagstones was hard but so much fun!
This hike was amazing and hard, mostly because we made the biggest mistake you can make when hiking: We didn't bring enough water. We also made the mistake of hiking a combination of two trails instead of the single trail we originally set out to hike.
I can't wait to share this hike with Jeff when we spend some time in Colorado next year.
