Biking Sandy Creek Trail

3 Miles South Franklin, PA

Trailhead locations and Directions

"Nothing compares

to the simple pleasure

of riding a bike."

John F Kennedy

The Sandy Creek Bike Trail is a 12 mile long paved trail. We usually access it from the Allegheny River Trail where the trails intersect at the Belmar Bridge, 5 miles south of Franklin, Pennsylvania. There are also trailheads with parking lots along the trail.

We love how scenic this trail is. The river and forestry views are beautiful.

There are seven bridges, a tunnel, and several old abandoned railcars in the woods.

We almost always ride the Sandy Creek Trail and the Allegheny River Trail together.
